What do Scouts do?
Scouts is where young people make new friends, have amazing adventures, and learn new skills.
Scouts are do-ers and give-it-a-go-ers. Yes, we go camping, hiking, swimming, climbing, kayaking and canoeing.
But, we also get to hang out with our friends every week – having fun, playing games, working in a team and taking on new challenges.
Every week in Doddington we help around 120 young people aged 4-18 develop the skills they need for life, for the tricky challenge, and the big dreams. Equipping Young People with #SkillsForLife is what we aim for.
Everyone is welcome here. All genders, races and backgrounds. Regardless of your young person’s physical ability – there’s a Scout adventure out there waiting for them. And we’ll help them find it.
Sign up to help your young person discover their ‘thing’: from archery, axe throwing, camping and hiking to coding to performance art and everything in between.
1st Doddington
1st Doddington Scout Group is part of the Fenland Scouting District in Cambridgeshire and has two Squirrel Dreys, two Beaver Colonies, two Cub Packs, two Scout Troops, Explorers & Young Leaders.
We meet at our Scout Hall in the village of Doddington and welcome boys and girls from the surrounding area aged between 4 and 14 years old into the group, with those aged 14 to 18 joining Explorers, with some also becoming Young Leaders.
As Scouts, we believe in preparing young people with #SkillsForLife. We encourage our young people to Do More, Learn More and Be More.
We are an active Scout Group, providing camps, adventures, new experiences and supporting the local community too.

It's not only about our Young People...
Scouts also has lots to offer adult volunteers, with opportunities to develop skills and confidence, supporting our Young People directly with section meetings, camps or events, or supporting in the background. Joining the worldwide family of Scouts opens up opportunities for fun, friendship, and adventures for adults too. #GoodForYou
